This week will be the 10th anniversary of Apple’s App Store. With that said, here’s a look back at mobile app history, with the top iOS apps of all time.
App Annie has released a comprehensive report, breaking down the top iOS apps ever, by both downloads and revenue, as well as the top apps by year.
First, as far as traffic and customers, the App Store has recorded more than 170 billion downloads and more than $130 billion in revenues on apps since July 2010. As of this week, the App Store has around 2.2 million apps.
On the mobile games front, Fortnite and PUBG aren’t there yet, but with their popularity, you may seen them on the list in the near future. Instead, we find classics like Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga and Fruit Ninja.

As for apps in general, Facebook reigns supreme as far as sheer downloads, but when it comes to consumer spend, it’s Netflix, Spotify, and Tinder leading the way.
Facebook was downloaded 700 million times worldwide between July 2010 and May 2018, according to the report.
