As many people in the U.S. unbuckled their belts from overdoing it at their Thanksgiving dinner, many people around the rest of the globe were online and watching the first teaser trailer for the live-action take on “The Lion King” for Disney Pictures.
With little other news that day and anticipation for the film high, it comes as little shock to reveal that the trailer became the second most-viewed trailer from any studio of all time with 224 million views in its first 24 hours, trailing behind only the debut of “Avengers: Infinity War” with 238 million views, and coming in ahead of the “IT” teaser with 197 million views.
“The Lion King” was originally released in 1994 and is one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, with a lifetime global box office of $968.8M.
