On the same day that reports surfaced about a friendly lunch with ex Justin Bieber, sources reported that Selena Gomez has ended her nearly year-long romance with The Weeknd. Gomez was spotted having brunch and then attending a church service with her former love Bieber on Sunday (Oct. 30) in Los Angeles, even as rumors began to surface that she may have called it quits with Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye).
An unnamed source confirmed that Gomez and the Weeknd had decided to break up after a 10-month romance. Gomez, 25, who has been out and about lately after several months of laying low following her kidney transplant surgery this summer, began dating the “Party Monster” singer, 27, in January, with the two making their public debut on the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York in May. She was also spotted checking out several of his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour dates around the globe.
The romance appeared to be going well, with the pair hitting the red carpet at a Harper’s Bazaar event in New York in September, where they were spotted kissing and holding hands. Though they rarely discussed their relationship in public, the former couple’s social media feeds captured a number of sweet moments.
Spokespeople for Gomez and The Weeknd could not be reached for comment at press time.
